Jamie Climbs Pen Y Fan
Earlier this month one of our surveyors, Jamie Charlton set himself a challenge to climb Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales. Not content with climbing it just the once like most people, Jamie’s aim was to climb it 10 times in 24 hours, hoping to raise £2,000 to help fund his daughter’s ABA therapy programme.
Amie Charlton who also works for Enquin, organised the day and set up a crowdfunding page on Just Giving.
Amie comments on her page ‘Recently we have been introduced to ABA therapy by a company called Autism Fledglings so we thought we would give it a go! Ava had her assessment earlier this year and the response was phenomenal! She spoke more in the session than I have ever known her to before. So of course we wanted to use this therapy as intensively as we possibly can………however as with most things that are life changing as this most definitely is……it is extortionately expensive!’
Despite the first attempt being postponed due to bad weather, Jamie managed to complete his challenge, with the help of friends and family on the day, selling cakes to fund raise and carrying buckets up the mountain.
Amie and Jamie are delighted to announce that they have smashed their original target raising a massive £2,475. We would like to wish Ava all the very best with her therapy and hope it enables her speech and communication skills to progress even further.
