Asbestos Management Plans
If asbestos containing materials (ACM’s) are identified during a survey, legislation requires you to have an Asbestos Policy and Asbestos Management Plans to control and implement your Policy.
Enquin Environmental can help you develop this Policy and Plan and incorporate them into a documented system to comply with Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations.
It is important to make sure you review your Asbestos Management Plan at least annually to ensure the effectiveness of the current Management Plan, especially if the building changes use or the company structure or policies change. There should be periodic checks to make sure that the arrangements and procedures for managing asbestos are working and that people are fully aware of what they should be doing to comply with the duty to manage.
Enquin can help you do this by providing compliance reviews and gap analysis audits.

Air Monitoring
Air monitoring during removal or abatement works establishes whether asbestos fibres are present in or around the area.
It is a legal requirement for monitoring during licensed removal works. Air monitoring is conducted by sampling a known volume of air through a sampling pump and then analysing the slide mounted filter membrane via Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM).

A periodic background monitoring program in locations where ACMs are present but have not been disturbed can also be used to complement a robust asbestos management strategy, giving confidence to building users that they are safe in their day-to-day activities.

Asbestos Surveys
The Control of Asbestos Regulations places specific responsibility on Duty Holders within organisations to be proactive in managing asbestos. Conducting Asbestos Surveys is a crucial step toward meeting legal requirements for your building.
Compliance is an ongoing responsibility – an Asbestos Management Plan should be produced and any recommended remedial actions should be planned in and undertaken. There are also ongoing training requirements to ensure that your staff are safeguarded. Enquin can assist with all of this.

Management Survey
An Asbestos Management Survey is required to identify and assess asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) that could be disturbed during normal occupation, cleaning and routine maintenance activities.
Its purpose is to enable the duty holder to manage asbestos risk effectively by maintaining an up-to-date asbestos register and implementing an appropriate management plan.
This survey should be completed for all non-domestic premises constructed before the year 2000 and should be reviewed periodically, or whenever there are changes to the building’s structure, use or condition. This review is often undertaken in the form of an annual Re-Inspection Survey. This type of survey is very cost effective as it removes the management of non asbestos materials from the Management Plan.
Refurbishment Survey
An Asbestos Refurbishment Survey must be undertaken before any refurbishment or intrusive maintenance work is carried out.
The survey is fully intrusive and designed to locate and describe all ACMs within the scope of proposed works so they can be safely managed or removed prior to commencement.
Because of the nature of the inspection, it should only be conducted in areas that have been vacated and are appropriately controlled to prevent potential fibre release to occupied parts of the building.
Demolition Survey
An Asbestos Demolition Survey is required prior to any demolition project, regardless of building size or type.
It is the most comprehensive and intrusive survey type, aiming to identify all ACMs within the structure to ensure they can be safely removed before demolition begins.
This survey is essential for compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and to ensure the safety of workers, contractors, and the environment during demolition activities.
Service Features

Recommendations are also provided to ensure that areas of concern are made safe and that all asbestos containing materials are safely managed.
